Hamilton, ON
I left with 20 minutes of extra time to spare for John and Christina’s wedding, which turned out to be a very good thing, since my GPS took me in circles for 10 minutes while trying to repeatedly take me down a road that was closed. When I finally found where I was supposed to be, the parking meter would only take credit (which I didn’t have on me), or cash, needed a full $6 in change.
What then happened was a full 10 minutes of emptying 2 years worth of change in nickels and dimes into the machine. After using all of the change that I had and still needing 63 cents more, I held onto a toonie which the machine had already rejected about 5 times. My options at this point were to search the floor of my car for loose change, beg a random stranger for money, or jam that toonie into the machine about 20 more times and hope that it would work. I stuck to the last option and miraculously it worked!
Even with the crazy start to the day for me and the incredible heat/humidity, along with a thunderstorm and torrential downpour, it was such a gorgeous wedding day!
John and Christina: Thanks for letting me hangout with you guys on this big moment of your lives! I’ve got to say, I’ve never seen anything like the “spice off” at the reception, but it was hilarious and is definitely something I won’t forget anytime soon! Wishing you both all the best!
